Implemented in April 2005, the Langara Students’ Union Health & Dental has been providing thousands of students with an affordable and accessible extended health & dental care coverage. Currently, only the full- time Fall term students are automatically covered by the plan when they pay their fees while part-time students have to manually self enroll into the plan by the given deadline. In recent years, a significantly increasing number of part-time students have been looking to self-enroll but would often miss the change-of-coverage period due to the lack of communication channels.
Therefore, the Lanagara Students’ Union is holding a referendum to ask the following question:
” I am in favour of the automatic enrollment of both Fall & Winter intake of full and part-time students into the extended Health & Dental Plan at the same rates as full time members.”
Please note students may withdraw from the Health & Dental Plan should they already have comparable health coverage during the change-of-coverage period for a full refund of plan fees.
If the majority of eligible student voters agree and signify their agreement with the referendum question asked, all full-time and part-time students will be automatically enrolled in the LSU Health & Dental Plan.
Therefore, please come out and vote “yes” so all students can be a part of the plan! Voting times will be as follows:
Nov 25th 10:00 am- Nov 27th 5:00 pm
Voting will be done online via an email link sent out by Langara College.
